Hi, Rockness reader!

Thank you SO MUCH for reading this really great digital feature that never smells stale and always feels so #freshhhhh.

If you would lend me but a few precious moments of your procrastination time it would be my absolute pleasure to chat with you with about some good shows happening in NYC this weekend!

Believe me, this feature will be worth your time it wastes.

So help me blob!

Thursday - April 21, 2016 A.D.

The Wolf Parade reunion is getting all the blob press but don't forget that Dan Boeckner's other band Operators is a good thing too and they play Baby's All Right tonight. Also, it's totally sold-out so I hope you either have a ticket or you don't really care about this show I just want you to be happy.

Worriers is a SOLID post ____ punk band. They play sick new songs of their sick new album "Imaginary Life" at Mercury Lounge tonight with Pouty (RIY: Slutever, Upset, Amanda X) + Painted Zeros (Worriers' Don Giovanni label mates). This show will be a good, especially if you like SOLID post _____ punk. I do!

Blackalicious play the Marlin Room at Webster Hall. Here's a essential tongue twisting classic cut to put you in the mood towards feeling good.

Other notable Thursday shows = Good Charlotte at Webster Hall + Landlady at Rough Trade + Peter Murphy at (le) poisson rouge +

If you like the post ____ emo (I do) there is no place better to be tonight than Irving Plaza for Into It. Over It + The World Is A Beautiful Place & I'm No Longer Afraid To Die + The Sidekicks + Pinegrove. I like all four of those bands and will be at this show for sure. Come hang out with me.

(Also, it might not be too late to enter our contest and win tickets to this one)

The mighty Speedy Ortiz is the musical guest at Griff and Joe's Earth Day Earthtacular comedy show at Union Hall in Park Slope and tickets are only $8. I recommend the band specifically but I'm sure the jokes will be pretty chill 2!

If you want to see four up-and-coming DIY punks in one chill DIY setting might I be so bold as to suggest going to see WALL + Patio + Fern Mayo + Spit at Palisades? You won't want to leave after a few songs. So help me blob.

Other notable Friday shows = Peter Murphy at (le) poisson rouge + Couch Slut at Don Pedro + Trace Mountains at The Gateway + Dalek at The Bell House + Juan Wauters at Shea Stadium

Saturday - April 23, 2016 A.D.

It's Barnard's free annual outdoor WBAR-B-Q time. If you go to Revson Plaza at Columbia today at 3 PM you can settle in to see Antwon + Downtown Boys + Japanese Breakfast and more good bands for FREE. Should be a beautiful day for it too. Please enjoy this time of being alive.

There's a benefit for Planned Parenthood tonight at Cake Shop led by TEEN + Fake Boyfriend + Annie Hart of Au Revoir Simone (there's no basement in the Alamo tho) + more tba! Consider going to see good music while supporting a super dope cause.

Rising up-and-coming buzzy singer/songwriter Bruce Springsteen (he hails from….hang on let me check this press release…ahh there it is….New Jersey) plays DIY co-op art space Barclays Center tonight. Should be pretty BOSS!

Other notable Saturday shows = Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaires at Beacon Theater + Fort Romeau at Good Room + Reptar at Knitting Factory + Wax Idols at Saint Vitus + Somerset Thrower at The Acheron + DJ Chrome Sparks at Trans-Pecos

The Thermals play Bowery Ballroom.

Hardly art.

Hardly starving.

Hardly art.

Hardly garbage.

I could run that classic cut forever, man.

Other notable Sunday shows = whatever you want to stay home and stream + I guess I was the only one who liked "Togetherness" (RIP)
