25 Good Shows To See in NYC This Week!

November 13th - November 19th / 2017 A.D.

1. Bully at Music Hall of Williamsburg on Monday, November 13th.

Bully is one of the best rock bands going.

The Nashville crew (led by Alicia Bognanno) are so good live.

STRONG stage game.

This show will make your average Monday night suddenly rule.

2. Iron & Wine at Town Hall on Monday, November 13th / Brooklyn Steel on Tuesday, November 14th.

When it's all said and done, it is my opinion that The Trapeze Swinger will rank right up there with the greatest of its era.

This performance of it, in particular.

3. No Age at Elsewhere on Tuesday, November 14th.

RECOMMENDED IF YOU LIKE THE DOPEST PUNK ROCK.

(this show is $5 and NOT sold-out………. yet)

FOREVER.

4. Dream Wife at Baby's All Right on Thursday, November 16th.

Punk blasts straight outta London!

THE SONG BELOW SERIOUSLY SHREDS.

TURN YOUR SPEAKERS UP.

WAY UP.

I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want

So tell me what you want, what you really, really want.

I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want

I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, F*CK YOU UP

5. Turnover at Bowery Ballroom on Thursday, November 16th / MHOW on Friday, November 17th.

This is one of my favorite jams of 2017 A.D.

It's very pleasant.

6. Alex Lahey at Music Hall of Williamsburg on Thursday, November 16th.

Alex Lahey is a laid-back lo fi pop rocker from Melbourne (10,353 miles away in current traffic).

Think sticky hooks meets a totally chill who gives a f*** vibe meets solid gold slacker HITS.

7. Stars at Rough Trade on Thursday / Friday / Saturday.

This Stars song from 2004 A.D. still gets me every time.

(they have had other excellent songs since then, of course, but I'm in a nostalgic mood)

8. Hot Snakes at The Bell House on Thursday, November 16th.

Best band ever, man.

Besides Drive Like Jehu and (your favorite band).

9. The Jesus and Mary Chain at PlayStation Theater on Friday, November 17th.

This Scottish band is really gonna be something. Remember their name!

(hit movies the year JAMC formed: Return of the Jedi, A Christmas Story, Mr. Mom and of course D.C. Cab starring a resplendent Mr. T)

I pity the fool that don't go to this show.

10. American Football at Brooklyn Steel on Sunday, November 19th.

I really like American Football's latest album and listen to it early / often. I think it's even stronger than their 1999 debut (and only other full-length album) and that one's a emo classic!

“Keep asking different questions

The same answer I receive

I need you more than ever to tell me what you see"

11. Parquet Courts at Elsewhere on Sunday, November 19th.

This band is better than eating when you're stoned.

This band is better than the floor at the old Boston Garden.

This band is better than _______.
