PJ Harvey plays Terminal 5. Again.

Reminder: she is good.

You heard it here four hundred and forty-first.

Ilana Glazer from “Broad City" (File Under: A Good Television Show) does stand-up at Union Hall. She's good. (That's why it's sold-out. Sorry. Not sorry. I didn't do it. I just blob here.)

Dawes play a free show at Rough Trade and they're good but not as good as Andre Dawson was in 1987 when he won MVP for the Chicago Cubs even though they finished in dead last place that year. But anyway...

Other notable Tuesday shows = Big Eyes at Alphaville

Wednesday - August 17, 2016 A.D.

Blink-182 plays Barclays Center. They used to be a good band. Probably still are. I don't know. I stopped paying attention to their new stuff right around the time I became a grown-ass man.

Navy Gangs play Baby's All Right. Is this band good? Yeah. They're good.

Baked and Stove and Liam Betson and Solids play Stadium. Good and good and good and good.

I ❤︎ weed.

Eskimeaux (File Under: A Good Band) and Fraternal Twin (RIYL: Bands Who Are Good) play Silent Barn tonight with more bands who may or may not also be good you can go to this show and report back to me your findings.

Other notable Wednesday shows = Saul Williams in a park (free) + High Waisted on a boat

You know who's a good band? Thick. See them at Alphaville tonight. Or, don't. They'll still be a good band whether you decide to show up or not.

Maria Usbeck plays C'mon Everybody. She just put out her debut album (post-Selebrities). Spoiler: it's good.

July Talk play a free show (w/ RSVP) at Rough Trade and I'm afraid I have some disturbing news for you. This band is good.

Marching Church (the Iceage dude) came all the way from Copenhagen (Denmark, dude) to play for you at National Sawdust (with Nico Muhly). Good thing they're good.

Other notable Thursday shows = Prince Rama at WFMU Monty Hall + Ghostland Observatory at Webster Hall + Antwon at Pier 83 + Sun Araw at MoMA

Friday - August 19, 2016 A.D.

The Menzingers play PlayStation Theater (w/ Bayside and Sorority Noise) and that's not a good name for a venue but this new Menzingers songs is good.

V. good.

Bryant Park is a good place to be today/tonight because you can see good bands (like Acid Dad) outside for free and even maybe make a little time to stop in at the library. Books are good.

Other notable Friday shows = Mark Sultan at Union Pool + Pill at The Park Church Co-Op + Fraternal Twin at 603 + Couch Slut at Aviv

Saturday - August 20, 2016 A.D.

Full Moon Fest on Governors Island is today and tomorrow. This is a good festival - especially if you like dancing outside. Save the first 27 jams for me, please. I've got some good moves.

One of MoMA PS1's last (and best) Warm Ups (File Under: A Good Party) of the summer is today (Joy Orbison + DJ Hot Chip + friends) because it's mid-to-late August and everything is winding down. Good. Everybody knows September is the best month of the year in NYC anyway. And then it gets shitty again. What a crazy spinning world we live in.

CRX plays Rough Trade. New band featuring Nick from The Strokes and some other dudes. You know who's a good band, though? The Strokes.

10,000 Maniacs play Highline Ballroom. These are the days, dudes. These are the days.

Other notable Saturday shows = Navy Gangs at Shea + Spit at The Glove + Dead Stars at The Footlight

Sunday - August 21, 2016 A.D.

Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip plays (le) poisson rouge. He's good. So is Hot Chip. But that's not important right now.

Full Moon Fest continues today. I told you this is a good fest, right? OK, cool. Just making sure I'm blobbing responsibly.

l ❤︎ weed.

Other notable Sunday shows = Grooms at The Glove + Madball at Saint Vitus + Omni at Mercury Lounge

Those were the good shows happening this week and the good bands playing them.

If the show you were looking for wasn't mentioned don't worry about it, dude, that just means it sucks. No big deal.
