Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are gaining a whole bunch of fans, their popularity reaching new heights as a direct result of their highly successful month-long residency at Pianos.

To quote the great Ladies Love Cool James, we get "around the way, girl" and it seems like everywhere we go people are talking about Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. It helps that they have a really catchy name, but it also helps when you sound like another legendary NYC band.

CYHSY (that looks like a rare liver disorder or something) sounds a whole lot like The Talking Heads, albeit a tad sunnier and a tad less spazzy. Their name is appropriate since their bouncy melodic rhythms definitely make you want to clap (although the "yeah" part I'm not so sure about... more like "Byrne!"). They're instantly appealing and completely accessible, so there's really no reason NOT to like this band (unless you think Merzbow is a creative genius... if so, then this band probably is not for you.)
