Villa Venus
Brooklyn's Villa Venus states very clearly on their website that they are "a slow, quiet band from Brooklyn." I thought that was nice in its concise simplicity. They tell it like it is. They're not having any of these lengthy self-written band descriptions about inspirations, influences, emotions, dramatics, thoughts, fears and deeds. Villa Venus just flat out says how they like to roll and hope you like them.
Well, you know what Villa Venus? I do like your slow, quiet band from Brooklyn. You remind me of those classic slow and quiet bands like Bedhead and Early Day Miners and American Analog Set and Kilowatthours. I always have room in my indie rock heart for more sparse, pretty guitars plucked over hushed vocals and muffled drums.
