BAND WE LIKE: STAR 99 ((twee-rific power/pop/punk))
((Inouk)) Band Profile and Upcoming New York City Concerts - Oh My Rockness
Inouk
New York City's Inouk play highly imaginative, intricate rock and roll, albeit rock and roll like you've never heard before. Dual singers (who also happen to be brothers) work together to create impassioned harmonies that soar over complex rhythms. These are songs that change in tone, texture and tempo climaxing in orgasmic crescendos. Inouk aren't easily definable, but they're highly listenable.
You'll hear hints of Shudder to Think, My Morning Jacket, Led Zeppelin, The Beach Boys, The Stone Roses... and the eclectic list goes on and on. These guys seem to have taken favorite verses, choruses, even notes from their music library and mashed them into something entirely weird and utterly unique. And the most astonishing thing is it completely works. You will never hear someone say "Oh, Inouk is just a remodeled version of ________." And you will never hear "Oh, _________ is just doing what Inouk did." Other bands couldn't rip this stuff off if they tried. Inouk are completely refreshing.
