((Blind Man's Colour)) Band Profile and Upcoming New York City Concerts - Oh My Rockness

Time to get trippy yet again. Blind Man's Colour are two nineteen-year-old dudes from Florida (not England, as their strange spelling suggests) making nicely layered and hazy dream-pop that sounds similar to what Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear and The Flaming Lips do.

Now I know those aren't the most original band associations in the world (Animal Collective = the new Pavement? Grizzly Bear = the new Fugazi? And so it goes...), but these guys truly do sound like a conglomerate of those three experimental heavyweights. That's just what happens these days when you're in a band that's musically obsessed with distorted psych guitar/machine swirls and intoxicatingly languid melodies (which in sum somehow sound just like childhood).

I should mention that Blind Man's Colour did just cover three different Animal Collective songs, so they must be cool with at least that comparison. The band just signed to Kanine Records (onetime home of Oxford Collapse, Professor Murder and... Grizzly Bear!) and will undoubtedly hit the road, so you should be hearing a lot more of Blind Man's Colour from your speakers and the stage very soon.
