Blanck Mass is Benjamin John Power - one half of the excellently electric duo Fuck Buttons. Blanck Mass is also electronic music and it too happens to be excellent. Hmmm, I wonder if this guy might be talented or something.
These extended machine-made jams (they're long... really long.... like 20+ minutes) call to mind Underworld at their unedited best (so no, not the 4 minute radio version of "Born Slippy"). Blanck Mass locks into a groove and just keeps going and going and going. It would be boring if it weren't so interesting (music writing at its finest, right there).
But why would I go on and on about what makes this instrumental electronic music interesting? Talk about boring. You should just listen to the jam below and then you'll know. You'll know it in your gut. And then go know it with your eyes, because you're going to want to see Blanck Mass live. Because that's what this is all about. Seeing good bands live. Right?
