((Anoraak)) Band Profile and Upcoming New York City Concerts - Oh My Rockness

Boy, I'm starting to annoy even myself. I've been listening to Anoraak's "Nightdrive With You" album nonstop since last Monday. It's SO good! I --- just --- can't --- get --- enough.

Spotlight on me: "When I'm with you baby, I go out of my head. And I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough. All the things you do to me and everything you said. And I just can't get enough. We slip and slide as we fall in love. And I just can't seem to get enough!" Whew, sorry for that. But that's what catchy French synth-pop does to me. It makes me break out into song. I'm a song-and-dance man by trade, yes sir I said I'm a song-and-dance man.

Anoraak is just one dude. I don't know if that's his real name or what, and frankly, I don't care. As long this fine Frenchman keeps pumping out the four minute dance jams, I'm not asking any questions. Live, Anoraak stands behind synths, computers, knobs of some sort, and other assorted plugged-in electronics. He strikes and twists and turns and adjusts to create the smoothest, sweetest, dance pop songs that I've heard in awhile.

Oh yeah, Anoraak sings along to his blissful electro-ness too. Now, usually electro-pop makers who also want to sing to their machine-made musical wonderments seriously screw it up, but Anoraak's vocals are mostly thrown in there to blend with the danceable samples and beats and glitches and clicks. Thank goodness for that.

Who to compare Anoraak too? Um, let's try M83 meets Harold Faltermeyer (you know, the Beverly Hills Cop theme song guy!).

Anyway, I'm starting to think I have a problem. I've already listened to the Anoraak album two more times since starting this band profile. Therefore, the following is my cry for help: WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
