((Allison Crutchfield)) Band Profile and Upcoming New York City Concerts - Oh My Rockness

Written by Patrick McNamara

Allison Crutchfield leads the Philadelphia band Swearin’ and shit, man, I’ve told you before that Swearin’ is a good goddamn band. But Crutchfield also flies under her own name sometimes when she needs a break from all the curses. And her solo stuff is gosh darn good too.

On August 7th, 2014 A.D. Crutchfield quietly released a sublime seven song bedroom pop album that’s roughly fifteen minutes long (I tallied up the track lengths in my head - and rather quickly at that). The record is called “Lean In To It” and it’s simple and pretty and perfect and I have listened to it often since August 7th, 2014 A.D.

Crutchfield did much of the heavy lifting but she didn’t create this lovely record alone. Sam Cook-Parrott of Radiator Hospital helped by playing and singing some things. I’ve told you about the goodness of Radiator Hospital before too. It’s nice when everything comes around again on this dynamic music blob.

What’s great about it being 2014 A.D. is instead of just reading words about this album you can listen to the sounds for yourself with the click of a button. All you really need is for someone you trust to dig and find it and post if for you. That’s where I come in. Because I’ve totally just done that for you. So go ahead and get clicking. You’re going to like the way this streams. I guarantee it. Start with track #1 and then play tracks #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7. And then do it all again.

Forever and Ever.
