The Dodos do dream-pop like a group of animals.

This band is quickly becoming one of our favorites! The Dodos are a somewhat psych-y and somewhat folk-y pop duo out of San Francisco (imagine that!) made up of Meric Long and Logan Kroeber. And boy, do they know how to write a catchy song.

Together, the duo create warm up-tempo songs structured around Kroeber's dynamic drumming skills and Long's rapid-fire acoustic guitar finger-picks and strums. The Dodos employ rhythms that are often played at a swift speed, but Long's warm vocals keeps these songs sounding more pop-pleasant than punk-rock.

This optimistic music is good for driving if you're fortunate to have access to a cloudless day without traffic and a convertible (if not, simply rolling down the windows will do, too).

The band signed to NYC's Frenchkiss Records for their second album, Visiter, and let me tell you, it's really good. Check it out, but don't wait until after The Dodos leave NYC to do so, or you'll be pissed.

The Dodos have recently toured with Akron/Family and Les Savy Fav. Fans of Panda Bear & Animal Collective should definitely check them out.

I'm really looking forward to seeing if The Dodos live show can capture the magic of their recorded songs. I'm betting these guys will come through in the clutch.
