1. Perfume Genius plays Brooklyn Steel on Tuesday, May 16th.

2. Real Estate play Brooklyn Steel on Wednesday, May 17th / Sunday, May 21st.

Another 100% chill band playing Brooklyn Steel.

Finally checked out that new venue. It's real good.

5. Digable Planets play a free show at House of Vans on Thursday, May 18th.

This is the first free House of Vans show of the summer and it's gonna be dope as hell.

6. The xx play Forest Hills Stadium on Friday, May 19th / Saturday, May 20th.

The best band for a store to blast in their fitting rooms, basically.

Both of these xx shows are sold-out. Suxx.

If you don't already have tickets you can try getting some here or you can console yourself by shopping for some new pants.

7. Thurston Moore Group play Music Hall of Williamsburg on Saturday, May 20th.

Once I found the first two Sonic Youth albums on vinyl, in perfect condition, just sitting out on the street.

Someone was like "don't need these!"

I took them before the garbage guy could.

8. The Make-Up play The Bell House on Saturday, May 20 / Sunday, May 21th.

Ian Svenonius and crew play their first NYC shows in 5 years. It will be crazy and there will be audience participation, probably.

Saturday's show is sold-out.

Sunday's show is not..........yet.

9. Red Bull Music Academy / Sacred Bones Birthday Jam at Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse (tickets).

The excellent record label Sacred Bones celebrates their 10 year anniversary of ruling with a stacked lineup of artists playing down by the river in Greenpoint.

Jenny Hval / Zola Jesus / Rose McDowall / Blanck Mass / The Men / Marissa Nadler / Moon Duo / Psychic Ills / Uniform will be there making sure this is a proper birthday party.

And Jim Jarmusch too. Have you seen Patterson yet? It's real good.

Part of the Red Bull Music Academy Festival.

10. Cat Power plays Webster Hall on Saturday, May 20th.

Chan Marshall plays her first solo date in NYC in like two years.

This show will rule. You heard it here fourth.
