Oh Lord, I don't know where to start with this band (although starting with the Lord is probably not the best way to go). I don't know a whole lot about Javelin, who they are (technically, they are George Langford and Tom Van Buskirk, but I mean "know" in the more metaphysical sense) or where they're from (oh, I do know that --- NYC).

I just know they sound like a crazy party. And damn, I wish someone would invite me to it! Geez, we pee in our pants ONE TIME in THIRD GRADE during the TWO PERSON POTATO SACK RUN and we're never invited to another party again? Shit ain't right.

From what I can gather (and granted, my gathering often tends to be wrong) Javelin appears to manipulate synths and machines and samples to make music that sounds like an electro hip-hop dance pop DJ video game blow-out.

And here's the other thing, Javelin's music is funny; funny like Frogger. So already these two have nailed 2 out of the 3 greatest things in the world: party music and humor (the third greatest thing in the world is tacos).

I don't know how they create this stuff, but I do know it makes merrymaking magic. And even God likes merrymaking. Right?

Javelin plays The Market Hotel, on Saturday, October 24th.
