There are lots of good shows going on in NYC this week but let's just quickly blob about 10 of them because having too many choices = massively overrated.

Here at Oh My Blob we want u to have just the right # of choices.******.

*****the right # of choices = 10 when both “right" (moving forward “right" will be represented by the symbol @) and “#" (“#" becomes “%" when the value = ¾ of a common integer) and “choices" (aka &$^Q#*$W%) are > or = to a show that is 100% good

10 Good Concerts in NYC This Week

November 28 - December 4, 2016 A.D.

1. Bon Iver starts his five show run at Pioneer Works on Saturday (tickets). His friends call him Bonny Bear. You can call him God. The thing about tickets to see Bon Bon... they're almost always gone gone. All of these shows are sold-out but remember that old phrase, how's it go?

Where there's a will - there's a pay.

2. Ilana Glazer (u may have seen her and Abbi Jacobson's smash hit situational comedy programme full of spot-on humour about a variety of life's common maladies on the telly box!) does stand-up (w/ some pals... but not Abbi... I don't think… I don't know... I just blob here) at Littlefield on Sunday (tickets).

This one is probably already sold-out too (because the telly). Just a guess. You can check. I can't do all the work for you. You're gonna have to put a little effort into this thing if we're to make this relationship work.

3. The annual Rock Lottery is Saturday at Knitting Factory (tickets) and it's always a fun thing. Here's the dealio. Members of a bunch of bands (many from bands you've probably heard of) form new bands on the spot (it's a lottery who goes with who, you see) and they have a few hours to come up with new songs for their new band and then they'll play them for paying people (maybe even you) later that night.

Cool, right? I thought so!

4. Mannequin Pussy headline a super sick punk show at Brooklyn Night Bazaar on Saturday (tickets). Have you heard MP's new album? It rules. You should listen to it. Listen to it right now. It'll be the first 16 or 17 minutes of the rest of your life.

Please note: works best if you BLAST IT.

5. The Hold Steady play four straight shows at Brooklyn Bowl, starting Wednesday (tickets). Below is my favorite The Hold Steady song. It's from 2004 A.D. Lots of murderously good parties that year, probably. I didn't go to any of them, though. Too busy blobbing.

Oh, well. At least I'm rich and famous now.

6. The Magnetic Fields play BAM on Friday and Saturday (tickets). Stephin Merritt and crew will be performing their new album “50 Song Memoir" and maybe some old songs too I don't know I just blob here (when u see that “I just blob here" sign flashing u are welcome to shout out “I just blob here!").

Here's an old Magnetic Fields song I think you may already love.

7. The mighty Titus Andronicus plays a VFW hall in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ on Friday (tickets). Hasbrouck Heights is a borough nestled in Bergen County, just 10 short miles north by northwest of New York New York. Some current / former notable Hasbrouck Heights residents include legendary pie f*cker Jason Biggs, football blowhard Bill Parcells and some blue eyed bro named Frank Sinatra.

8. Jerry Seinfeld (most famous for his role as Kirk Cameron on “Growing Pains") plays Beacon Theater on Friday (tickets). Please note: this run will continue….. perhaps forever... I don't know…. I just ____ ____). Tickets are sold-out probably (remember, Luke: “where there's a will - there's a pay") and also did u ever notice how u park on a driveway and drive on a parkway.

I appreciate this humour!

9. Dinosaur Jr. play Irving Plaza on Wednesday and Thursday (tickets / tickets). Are these two shows sold-out? I don't know…. (the light is flashing) but depending on when you're reading this you still might be able to win two tickets to go see these old sludge masters for free.

Do u believe in blobs? YES.

10. Metric play a free show (w/ RSVP) at Music Hall of Williamsburg on Tuesday. But you know what.... I just checked and that RSVP list is sadly now closed.

Sorry.

I didn't do it.

I just blob here.

Other good NYC shows this week = Mike Birbiglia at Union Hall + Tobacco at Brooklyn Bowl + Fruit Bats at Bowery Ballroom + Stevie Nicks at Madison Square Garden + Foxygen at Rough Trade + Cyndi Lauper, Billy Corgan, Sharon Van Etten and friends (weird!) at Beacon Theater + Beth Orton at Carnegie Hall + Windhand at Mercury Lounge + Torche at Music Hall of Williamsburg

Those are 10 good shows happening in NYC this week.

Just the right # of choices, right?

I thought so!
