SPOILER ALERT: Win Butler No Age Beverly Waxahatchee Big Ups Frightened Rabbit Caveman Sheer Mag Mitski Porches Beach Fossils Crystal Castles Dizzee Rascal White Lung Del Yacht Woods Jerry Seinfeld The Black Lips Wild Nothing

But that's just a tease of the musical goodness yet to come...

Please allow me a few #chill moments of your undivided #procrastination time to discuss this weekend's musical #goodness in #NYC.

These are the good shows I know I know these are the good shows I know.

Thursday - May 5, 2016 A.D.

If you want to see four good bands tonight and you don't want to move (except to the chill beats when the bands are playing) might I be so bold as to suggest you go to Baby's All Right tonight and stay there? Beverly (good band) + EZTV (good band) + Painted Zeroes (good band) + Tall Juan (good band) all play and this = a (good) show!

Of course you might choose to see Big Ups at Shea Stadium instead. That's fine too. They are a good band. I totally get where you're coming from.

Or, maybe you just want to see Waxahatchee at The Bell House. Totally get it. Katie Crutchfield & crew are good! Why wouldn't you want to see them?

But if you decide to go see Bush tonight you, my friend, are on your own. This blob don't play that.

*fine the opening riff on Machinehead is kind of good in a '90s radio way but that's as far as I'll go with the Bush compliments until we know each other better

Other notable Thursday shows = Frightened Rabbit and Caveman at Terminal 5 + Sheer Mag (who are SICK, BTW) at WFMU Monty Hall + Super Furry Animals at Webster Hall + Mykki Blanco at Market Hotel + DJ Shit Robot at Good Room + Mirah at BRIC House + Low Cut Connie (free) at Baby's All Right + Jerry Seinfeld at Beacon Theater

Friday - May 6, 2016 A.D.

There are a lot of shows tonight. I'm just letting you know up front so you have an extra second to emotionally prepare yourself. Ready? Let's do it!

Mitski (good!) + Porches (good!) + Beach Fossils (good!) lead a good (!) lineup for NYU's annual Strawberry Festival. Like every year, it's FREE. Like every year, you say you're gonna go to this and you never do. Guess what? THIS IS THE YEAR YOU GO TO THIS.

Also. If you like Free Summer Shows. Please check out this dope list we made 4 U!!!!!!

Dizzee Rascal performs his classic album "Boy in Da Corner" at Music Hall of Williamsburg for Red Bull Music Academy Festival New York. He's good!

Sheer Mag play Market Hotel. They're SICK!

Yacht play Brooklyn Bowl. You bet!

Wall play Cake Shop. Yes, please!

So much goodness tonight. I told you. What if I were to tell you there's even MORE? Would you freak out?????? Let's list some more good shows happening tonight and see what happens!

Other notable Friday shows = The Men at Alphaville + Solids at Palisades + Born Ruffians at WFMU Monty Hall + Vetiver at The Bell House + Chelsea Wolfe at Stone Pony + Nancy Whang at Knitting Factory

Saturday - May 7, 2016 A.D.

Crystal Castles + No Age (the. best. band.) + Kero Kero Bonito play a big old warehouse in Brooklyn and as of this writing (12:14pm in The Year That I'm Writing This A.D.) there are still tickets available so get on it if you want it and don't get mad at me if it's sold-out by the time you check I didn't do it I just blob here.

Vancouver ___ punks White Lung (so good!) play Baby's All Right and I don't know what your plans are this evening but I'll be at this one if this fact sways you either way. Feel free to just love this song if you want.

Del the Funky Homosapien play Brooklyn Bowl and speaking from a purely personal perspective (if I may be so bold to do that on my own music blob) I think he might be my favorite lyrical flow artist of all time. People rate this dude highly and I still think he's underrated. The best. Bet.

DJ Windows 98 spins records with a live percussionist at 88 Palace in Chinatown. Who?

Beverly play a free show at Rough Trade at 2pm today and if you're the type that likes going to see really good ____ punk bands without having to pay for the privilege I highly suggest you be there.

Also! Don't forget about our Free Summer Shows list! I promise I'll only mention it again twice a day from now until September.

Wild Nothing play Webster Hall. If you were to ask me to name three of my favorite albums of the last ten years I would probably mention this one. As for the other two? I don't know. Let's figure it out later.

The Black Lips play Bowery Ballroom. These ____ punks keep getting better and that's noteworthy considering they started pretty goddamn good.

Montreal's Ought play Rough Trade. I've said it before and I'll say it again. This band is good!

Other notable Sunday shows = Kamasi Washington at Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse + Mirah at WFMU Monty Hall + Chelsea Wolfe at Music Hall of Williamsburg
