((The Faint)) Band Profile and Upcoming New York City Concerts - Oh My Rockness

What the hell happened to The Faint? They started out all lo-fi, a small band from Middle America, and suddenly they turn into this dance-rock phenomenon, with a stage show so full of lighting tricks it would make even Britney blush.

The Faint were one of the first bands on Mr. Bright Eyes' Omaha-based record label, Saddle Creek. In 1998 they released their debut album Media which was a nice enough album, but no one would accuse it of being special. Then they got their hands on some keyboards. And before you know it, all the kids are bopping and buzzing about them.

They got so big they even released a remix album. Huh? The Faint are now big enough for a remix album? That little old indie band from Omaha? And not only that, Paul Oakenfold remixes one of their tracks. Isn't he that "house" "DJ" on MTV's "Spring Break?" Now that's comedy.
