((Teen Men)) Band Profile and Upcoming New York City Concerts - Oh My Rockness

Written by Patrick McNamara

Delaware's Teen Men are a new pop band (synth + guitar + electronics + stuff) comprised of two guys (Nick Krill + Joe Hobson) from The Spinto Band*. Live, they are flanked by two additional members (artists Albert Birney + Catharine Maloney) whose job is to provide the sweet interactive visuals. Good work if you can get it. This is catchy shit, and by that I mean you can sing along to it, and if you go see Teen Men play in real life, you just might take a pleasant trip to Outer Space.

You can take advantage of this sensory opportunity soon because, as of this writing (3:23 PM in fifth month of the Year That I'm Writing This A.D.), Teen Men are about to tour with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and not to brag but I've totally heard of that band.

Bar/None will release the band's self-titled debut album on vinyl on June 9th (in the Year That I'm Writing This A.D) and OK full disclosure, as of right now right here this very moment today I haven't heard any of the songs from it except “Hiding Records (So Dangerous)." But that's a really good song and I've listened to it several times so I feel pretty optimistic about things. And anyway, not having much material to work with has never stopped me from writing one of these dynamic band profiles before.

I'll go ahead and post the song for you and then you can write back and tell me how much you like it too.

*The Spinto Band formed in 1996 so I'm reasonably confident neither Nick nor Joe are teenagers, unless..... no, not even with recent advances in the infant's brain thanks entirely to the Baby Einstein video series would this be even remotely possible.
