((Office)) Band Profile and Upcoming New York City Concerts - Oh My Rockness

Chicago's Office sounds like a power-pop cross between The Cars and Queen (singer Scott Masson sounds like Freddie Mercury minus the falsetto). There's not much angst or angularity going on here with such accessible guitar-synth choruses as these. But there is definitely a dash of broodiness that keeps Office from being fully pigeon-holed simply as "sunshine pop."

These two lads and two lasses are going for the hooks and harmonies that they hope will lead to hits (landing a spot at this year's Lollapalooza was certainly a step in the right direction). When we saw Office play last year at Schubas (as part of Tomorrow Never Knows 2007) it was totally packed with bouncing and clapping kids, and that was the first time we had ever heard of them. So obviously, we're behind the times.
