((Memoranda)) Band Profile and Upcoming New York City Concerts - Oh My Rockness
Written by Patrick McNamara
Memoranda are the sweetly swirling fuzz pop of Brooklyn's Hector Silva and his bliss band. That's Sarah on vocals - Corey on guitars - Ethan on bass - Kevin on drums - at least they were the fine people who played on their “Into the Wild” 7” - the live lineup might be the same wonderful talent - or different - I don't know - I couldn't even find a band photo - you see? - this is what happens when you write without a handy press release nearby to tell you exactly what to say - utter. chaos.
If you dream of shoegaze, you might want to get into this band soon after you wake up. I mean, have your coffee and look at your phone first.... obviously. But then set aside some quiet time to explore Memoranda’s goodness. Because these shimmering melodies (with a little bit of that guitar crunch you didn't even know you still needed) are going to get you to where you want to be. Which is always right exactly where you already are.
Hey. Remember when I was talking about Memoranda’s 7” in the parentheses up there at the top? Two more things about that.
#1: It was produced, engineered, and mixed by Kevin Dye. He’s in New Jersey band Gates. And that’s a very, very, fine band. But they have their own profile This is Memoranda’s. So step off, Gates. (click here to read their profile - it’s just as great as this one I promise you.)
#2: You can stream both songs off the 7" below. Because you know what I did? I went out and found them for you. Awww. I'm always doing sweet things like that. Now go ahead and just press ‘play.’ Then sit back, relax, and wait for this pop sweetness to blow the jasmine of your mind.
