((Las Rosas)) Band Profile and Upcoming New York City Concerts - Oh My Rockness
Brooklyn's Las Rosas play good easygoing garage jingle jangle (ah alliteration, oh how I've missed you) that is perfect for sitting around and letting your mind slowly swirl towards wherever the hell your mind wants to go. Don't set pre-constructed paths for your mind, mannnn. Let it wander off the grid, mannnn. It's also perfect to see performed live. Because that's what this whole Rockness thing is all about, right? I don't know. I forget sometimes.
So back to the task at hand. Las Rosas is retro-fueled guitar good times. You won't feel worse after listening to these dudes, that's for sure. These dudes do garage rock. But it's the kind of garage that's mellow and kinda psych-y and sorta dirty, you know? It's not really that blues-y kind of garage rock. Thank god for that. No more blues. We're all booked up here at the Blues Hotel from now until forever.
Las Rosas have recently played some shows with Jaill - a band on this label called Sub Pop (never heard of 'em). Whew. That's a perfect sound pairing right there and I feel a little stankier just typing those two band names one after the other. Las Rosas also would sound nice alongside Scott & Charlene's Wedding - another good Brooklyn jingle jangle up-and-comer. And as long as we're throwing out other names, Las Rosas' Jose Boyer was in the band Harlem, who put out an album on that label Matador (never heard of 'em).
Anyway, go put on Las Rosas. Just do it. Then relax your mind. And let your body follow. Good things await.
Or, you know, just go see them play a show sometime. Because that's what this is all about, right? Right? Guys? Hello?
