((Forest Fire)) Band Profile and Upcoming New York City Concerts - Oh My Rockness

Victoria Jacob
Brooklyn's Forest Fire is one of those bands that's kind of hard to pin down. One of their finest songs "Fortune Teller" has a rhythmic guitar riff that sounds like a machine-made hip-hop beat. But this isn't hip-hop (someone like Kanye should remix that shit though).

Singer Mark Thresher's laid-back croons sometimes give off an alt-country vibe. But this isn't alt-country.

Sometimes there are some nice tambourine solos and lonely acoustic guitars and soft percussion and sweet harmonies and things that make one think of campfire-folk. But this isn't campfire-folk.

You can even say Forest Fire are Appalachia-core (not a genre, we know) and no one would disagree, or at least no one would give you the crazy eyes.

So who is Forest Fire? We just don't know. But it's really hard to keep listening to them on repeat if we have to keep stopping to explain this band to you. So please, leave us to our listen.
