((Florist)) Band Profile and Upcoming New York City Concerts - Oh My Rockness
Written by Patrick McNamara
Florist is a good band that plays super solid lo-fi indie pop swirling gently towards a most melodic melancholy. Feel the love, feel the loss, feel the pain in these carefully crafted songs. Feel it all. And after you listen a few times (you will have the golden opp to do that in just a sec), try singing along.
The band (Emily + Rick + Jonnie + Felix) formed in Upstate NY but live in Brooklyn now and have recently played shows in/around that fine borough (founded in 1643 by Lady Deborah Moody - I didn't research that or anything I just knew it - JK! - thanks again for your help with everything, Wikipedia) with a bunch of good bands like Ought, Mutual Benefit, Girlpool, Jawbreaker Reunion, Fern Mayo and more but now's not the time to get into it. The point is, Florist is really working hard out there, spreading the news of their goodness and you should go see them if you're the type that likes going to see good bands.
BTW, Florist's solid album “The Birds Outside Sang" was recently released by the excellent record label Double Double Whammy (home to: LVL UP, Free Cake For Every Creature, eskimeaux, Frankie Cosmos, Porches and a bunch more solid bands) and because I'm such a chill dude I've made it so you can stream the ENTIRE THING for free (I love living in 2016 A.D.) directly below the dynamic digital words.
