((Big Awesome)) Band Profile and Upcoming New York City Concerts - Oh My Rockness
Written by Patrick McNamara
Big Awesome is three dudes from Bluffton, South Carolina* that make catchy rockster pop with pretty, bendy, crunchy, noodle-y guitars along with gruff and sometimes soaring sing-able melodies that will make you feel something resembling happiness after everything has been played, sung, and is done. Thus, I am allowed me to say Big Awesome sound “slightly emo-ish" without feeling the least bit bad about it.
The band (Colin + John + Nathan) have been around for a few years, having first released some good jams in 2011 (couldn't tell you one thing that happened that year). Big Awesome then released the excellent EP “Birdfeeder" a year later before ceasing from putting out good jams in order to play shows and rest and stretch for a few years…. until very soon from now…. because as of this writing (3:20 PM in The Year That I'm Writing This A.D.) the band will finally release their debut full-length some four years later. It's called “Party On" (released by Jetsam-Flosam Records) and not to get too braggy or anything but I've already heard it and if the stupid Music Industry has any sense (note: it doesn't) it will be big because it's awesome.
Below is “Foliage," a track from that upcoming big awesome Big Awesome album. I bet you like it because I like betting on the good things I know exist in you. And I'll tell you what, when I'm allowed to post the entire album I'll go back and update this profile to include that, something I hardly ever do. So you know I mean business with this thing.
Have fun streaming and seeing a good band. Be excellent to each other and party on, dudes.
