((Acid Dad)) Band Profile and Upcoming New York City Concerts - Oh My Rockness
Written by Patrick McNamara
NYC's Acid Dad plays high energy psych punk that sounds good when blasting through my speakers and, even better, is super tight live. I wonder why. Maybe it's because they play out all the time and leading studies by distinguished minds suggest there may be a correlation between practice and perfection but I don't know about all that cerebral horseshit I just blob here.
The first show we ever listed for Acid Dad was wayyyy back in January of 2015 A.D. (I don't remember one thing that happened that year) and by December we had listed 35 more. This total was impressive enough for them to claim the number three spot on our Hardest-Working Bands of 2015 feature and I'll tell you what, it takes some kind of hustle and heart to make it onto that thing.
They've shared bills with a whole bunch of good NYC bands including Future Punx, Haybaby, Frankie Cosmos, Tall Juan, Jawbreaker Reunion, Gingerlys, Surf Rock is Dead and many more. Feel free to click these bands' names to learn about their musical goodness too but please at least wait until we're done here.
The band has some new music coming but in the meantime please enjoy blasting three songs that already exist for our listening pleasure. Don't forget to turn it up, please.
