Jennifer Pearl's defiantly emotive vocals lead Lion Fever's stripped-down and volatile garage thrash, creating a sound that's like Gun Club meets PJ Harvey and Cher. Pearl really wails.
There are noticeable psych and country elements beneath these furious rhythms, making for a more interesting listen than your average "garage" band that simply turns the amps to 11. But overall, Lion Fever is just a dirty rock 'n' roll band that doesn't really like you that much. And for that, you love them. If that's not punk co-dependency, what is? |
