NYC's Sigmund Droid are a dirty drum/bass duo that rocks all over the place. Their garage/classic/punk sounds like a cross between the recently deceased dirty drum/bass duo Death From Above 1979, the Voidoids' vigor, Jimi Hendrix's "Foxy Lady" bass lines, Big Black's Albini vocal, and the faux accents of Art Brut (though Art Brut are, in fact, British).
Sigmund Droid has also played several shows with their pals Apes and Androids, and that fine band also represents a nice sound pairing to these two dudes. You can throw out a ton of names when dealing with Sigmund Droid (they themselves say they're influenced by Interpol?!), because this band is a classic rock chameleon. They can mix up their punk with the past and present to create fiery songs for the benefit of your future. |
