I realize this profile will be outdated almost as soon as I write it, but consider it a snapshot in a rock 'n roll time capsule or something (and it's not like there aren't any other outdated band profiles on Rockness... we really gotta get on that). Looking at Arcade Fire's tour dates, specifically their show in October of 2007 at Randall's Island in NYC, it's like a who's who of supporting bands: Les Savy Fav, Blonde Readhead, LCD Soundsystem, Wild Light... wait, Wild Light? Who the hell is Wild Light?
So I looked and listened and I found out that Wild Light is an unsigned band from Boston that makes epic, dramatic pop full of harmonies, climaxes and resolutions. So yeah, it was immediately clear why Wild Light's music would appeal to Arcade Fire and Arcade Fire's fans. They're also supporting Arcade Fire at places like the Hollywood Bowl and other intimate venues that end in "amphitheater." Boy, this band sure hit the jackpot. It's a good thing Wild Light sounds pretty good. |
