Thing-One
New Jersey's Thing One are a young five-piece band that play soulful indie-pop made possible by machines. And these guys aren't afraid to sing about love. Their upbeat synth-centric melodies sound similar to what their touring mates and best buddies Ra Ra Riot are doing, and their vocals kind of remind me of Baby Dayliner's laid-back croon.
Sometimes, they like to bust out the programmed beats and big bass grooves above all their swirling synth stuff to give the songs a certain flair for the dance-matic. This is easygoing pop with some zip on it.
