Oh My Rockness

Brooklyn's Freshkills rock the angular guitar rock. These guys should be signed to Frenchkiss because they riff it up similarly to Les Savy Fav, Call Me Lightning and The Plastic Constellations. There's no bullshitting going on with this music. Their songs just kind of kick ass.

Call it bar-rock or rhythm-rock or even groin-core (sounds better than crotch-rock). Just call this rock. Because that's what this is. Freshkills list some of their influences as being Drive Like Jehu, The Jesus Lizard, and Quicksand. Those are some good bands (man, Quicksand destroyed didn't they?).

Freshkills has recently played shows with similarly hard-hitting Glass Candy, Bellmer Dolls and Goes Cube. These five dudes know how to bring it.
